The last thing I’m gonna say for now…

A lot of you wrote to protest that I didn’t talk about McVet’s statement to Mer or about McDreamy’s “I love you.”  So, here goes…

Oooh, wait!!  Can I just tell you that, last night, McDreamy told me he loved ME?  Okay, not so much McDreamy as Patrick Dempsey and not so much “me” as “working on the show” but still…my heart skipped a little beat just the same to have him utter the words in that voice of his.  That man says “I love you” better than anyone on the planet.  But he’s married.  In real life.  And on the show.  As much as we like to fantasize, we all have to remember that…

Anyway, I was proud of Finn.  I was proud of the fact that he comes over to say that he and Meredith aren’t exclusive.  He’s pissed but they’re not exclusive.  Because, honestly, he doesn’t know what happened in that exam room.  He doesn’t even know there WAS an exam room.   And he really is a good guy, a strong guy, a guy who feels something for a woman for the first time since his wife’s death.  I like that he’s not petty or easily made jealous.  I like that he’s confident enough to stick.  And I LOVE that he says that Derek is bad for her and he (Finn) is a good thing.  There is some truth to it.  Given the history of Mer/Der.  And Finn is a rescuer-guy.  You know, rescuer-guys, right?  They’re the ones who are determined to break through the scary/damaged barrier we dark and twisty girls put up.  They’re the real thing, rescuer-guys are the guys you marry.

The guys you should marry.   But then there are the Dereks of the world…

Let me say a little something about McDreamy men.  They are scary and damaged themselves.  They carry a little bit of tortured soul in them.  But they mean well.  And they’re honest.  And they’re so, so, so darn tempting.  Especially when they stand in your kitchen say “I just…I love you.  I have loved you…forever.”  How in the world are we supposed to say no to that?  We should.  We should send them packing.  But…SERIOUSLY?

And so Meredith is left with this choice.  Between what her brain knows she should do and what her heart wants her to do.  And while it seems obvious and easy, it’s absolutely not.  Finn has plans.  And Derek’s got a wife.  And there’s the choice to be healthy and mature and whole and the choice to jump off the cliff.  And no one jumps off a cliff without a parachute if they know what is good for them.   Plus, it’s not like she doesn’t have feelings for Finn.  She definitely has feelings for Finn.  And I know Derek says that he loves her but he says it about twenty episodes too late.

She stood there and said “pick me, choose me, love me.”  She begged him.  BEGGED him in the most humble, humiliating, soul-baring way possible.  And he chose Addison.  He walked away and chose Addison.

That would give any girl pause.  Major, major pause.

Meredith’s pausing.

She’s hit the pause button.

But, don’t worry, I’m not dragging this out all season.  I’m not gonna drag it out very long at all.  I like to move things forward. 

I like to take my finger off the pause button and see what happens next.

You guys are keeping this show real!! I am in my fourties now and life is not as neat as I thought in my twenties. A great life has passion and twists and turns and decisions to mull over later. Keep it up. The cast additions of Addison and Callie as regulars are great. The fill ins of the Dennys, Finns, and Bomb Guy are real for anyone who has dated and then met "the one they are to be with". We love the filler men also!! They add to the spice of the path of life. Okay, first of all can I just say that I LOVE YOU??!!! I know its not the same as McDreamy Patrick but its true, I do love you. I love you for creating this mind boggling.. cant stop thinking about it.. obsession of a show. I love the cast, the writers.. everyone. Do you feel the love? if not, there's plenty more!

Okay now to the topic at hand. Meredith/EP is my favorite.. yes you might even say I have my first girl crush. I can relate to Meredith's character on so many levels and I am sure alot of women out there can, thats why we love her so much. Its so refreshing to finally see her smile this season, I mean really smile. I know that Finn has alot to do with that and I will be forever grateful for "unbreaking" her. I know all about the rescuing type of guys, I married one. He's nice, kind, sensitive, blah blah blah but I always find myself wondering what if.. there's not necessarily a mcdreamy but something close. Okay enough rambling about myself, my point is while its nice to have that person who makes you feel safe and taken care of, you need the "can't live without each other love" and the "passion" thank god for the amazing chemistry between EP/PD wow..

While, I have complete faith in you Shonda, and I am along for the ride, I have to admit I was a little nervous that this was going to be another Ross/Rachel or Carrie/Mr. Big. Thank you for saying that you wont be dragging this out. We need more MerDer Lovin', More lovin' I say. I have no doubts that you could take their relationship to so many levels and I CANT WAIT!

I know it will take Derek a long time to gain Meredith's trust back again, how can it not? Please just dont make us wait too long.

I love the Meredith and Finn combination. I can see so much happening with them as a couple. Derek having to deal with his lust for her and Addison being patient and hoping he grows out of it. I just love Addison. Would Meredith be THAT stupid and sacrifice Finn for Derek knowing the pain her mother's relationship caused everyone? I hope not. If I could give Meredith advice it would be "Meredith ... you had a taste of McDreamy ... you have that locked in your memory. Now move on and enjoy a complete relationship with Finn, who can give you all of himself." Derek seems to have issues/quirks and it will be interesting to see how much of his personality flaws will be revealed in future episodes.

And even though he's hurt Mer about as bad as he possibly could have....love has a way of making you forgive such hurt. And whatever Finn thinks of Derek (good or bad) Mer loves him. Let me just say that I appreciate that you are making her pause. Because in real life? There would be a pause. Yes, most of us hate Finn - but most of it is that he's taking her from Derek. If there was no Derek Finn would be wonderful. And because of that, Meredith SHOULD pause.

Shonda, this is so true about the Mer/Der/Finn triangle, which I have to tell you, I absolutely LOVE. The drama of it all. Although Addison is my all-time favorite character-possibly in the history of television- I want Meredith to be with Derek. It just seems so right. Although I agree what he's doing to Addison is-to quote Derek-"so pedestrian". She deserves much better than that, and I hope she gets what she deserves. So if that means Derek leaving her for Meredith, that's okay because she's "dodging a bullet". This show is amazing in all possible ways, and I find myself saying SERIOUSLY after each and every episode, counting down the days until next Thursday. I feel like I actually KNOW these people. That I work with them, that I see them everyday. It's like you got into each and every person in America's head when you created this show. I find myself relating to issues that they deal with, comparing myself to Addison, crying with them, like it's my friends/co-workers going through those things. It's amazing how "dark and twisty" we all are and how "dark and twisty" all the characters are. It's pure brilliance! I thank you, as does everyone who is just as obsessed with GA. We love this show, these characters, and you.

Also, is there anyway to get into any contact with the actors? In my absolute love for Kate Walsh, I'd love to get her autpgraph. I know, that sounds completely high school and cheesy, but it's true. I admire her and her work very much. Thank you!

Season 3, here we come! We love love LOVE "Grey's Anatomy" and have been faithful viewers from the beginning. That said, we're so excited for where the show will go this season. Meredith has a major choice to make, doesn't she?? The premiere was awesome and we can't wait to see how all of these issues will resolve themselves. I love it. My co-workers and I discuss it at work. And they all wonder how it could even be possible that Meredith won't pick Derek. And I told them that although Finn's a nice guy, and nice guys finish last, he might have a trick up his sleeve and to watch for it. It's not going to be as cut and dry as they'd expect. Also, I think I've accidentally watched the second episode of the third season before I actually watched the season premier? How's that possible?
